GYM BATTLE · NORMAL PHYSICAL

How far can Gladion’s Normal physical firepower go? Two teams using the third and fourth syncs

With Arc Suit Gladion & Silvally and Larry (Special Costume 2) & Komala fixed, we compare Mai & Munchlax with Juliana (Anniversary 2026) & Terapagos. Gladion takes the team’s third and fourth sync moves in both routes.Open either team’s sync grids and action order to recalculate with your own upgrades.

Mai: 3.263 billion; Juliana: 3.979 billion

Three tickets, a starting sync buff of 5, 270 seconds, and neutral Normal physical attacks only. All figures are reference firepower indices summed across three opponents.

The Juliana route is 22.0% higher than the Mai route. Juliana’s own special and Stellar-move damage is excluded; the comparison measures the physical firepower gained from her support.

Cumulative Normal physical reference firepower indices for the Mai and Juliana teams. Gladion takes the third and fourth syncs.
Both routes use Gladion’s sync move twice and include attacks through the end. Select the image to enlarge it; scroll horizontally on smartphones.

Using the third and fourth syncs outperformed saving one for last

TeamOnce at the endThird and fourth syncsIncrease
Mai team2.403 billion3.263 billion+35.8%
Juliana team2.985 billion3.979 billion+33.3%

With the same three pairs, sync grids, and 270-second duration, routes using Gladion for the third and fourth syncs exceeded those saving his first sync until 261.25 seconds. Supporting sync order and regular actions were also adjusted, so the entire increase cannot be attributed to sync count alone.

“1st Use S-Move: S-Moves ×2” is modeled additively with other sync-move power boosts. It applies to Gladion’s first personal sync, even when that is the team’s third sync. The calculation does not double the entire final damage after other boosts.

How do these figures compare with the previous eight-type chart?

The previous article’s 270-second reference firepower chart for eight types in the fifth Gym Battle.
Eight-type comparison chart from the previous article. We use the figures published on October 29, 2026, unchanged; the eight types have not been recalculated.

The initial 2.403-billion estimate was about 85.0% of the previous Electric physical result of 2.826 billion. With the revised sync order, the Mai team’s 3.263 billion is about 115.4%, and the Juliana team’s 3.979 billion is about 140.8% of that figure.

The previous article includes the weakness multiplier and Gym Battle’s additional 50% for super-effective attacks; Normal attacks are neutral here. The calculation model and sync-move usage also differ, so treat this as a comparison of published figures. The previous chart’s right-hand panel has no attack-category restriction and is not limited to special teams. We have not normalized the old totals by dividing every value by three.

Mai team

Team total over 270 seconds
3.263 billion
Gladion’s cumulative total
3.234 billion
Gladion’s two syncs combined
0.986 billion

Mai supplies physical boosts and extends the zone. Larry and Mai take the first two syncs, followed by Gladion for the third and fourth.

Sync order: Larry at 42.75s → Mai at 85.50s → Gladion at 128.25s → Gladion at 204.25s

Juliana team

Team total over 270 seconds
3.979 billion
Gladion’s cumulative total
3.979 billion
Gladion’s two syncs combined
1.169 billion

Juliana supports Gladion with her master passive, counting two Paldea pairs including Larry, plus sync countdown acceleration and zone reapplication. “Normal Zone: Team Moves ↑ 3” strengthens regular and buddy moves, but not sync moves. Juliana and Larry take the first two syncs, followed by Gladion for the third and fourth. Attacks after the final sync are counted through 270 seconds.

Each calculator link restores the three pairs, sync grids, and displayed action order. A new search does not automatically preserve the listed sync users or order, so check the action sequence.

Gladion’s adopted sync grid in the tool (70 energy)
Gladion’s adopted sync grid with 1st Use S-Move: S-Moves ×2 selected: 25 tiles, 70 energy.
Gladion uses the same sync grid in both teams, strengthening his first sync, powering up moves and sync moves as Attack rises, and extending the zone and Circle.

Calculation settings

Move level is 5, with 6★ EX, EX Roles, and supported Superawakening effects enabled. Each sync grid uses no more than 70 energy. Only neutral Normal physical damage is counted, without a weakness multiplier or the additional 50% for super-effective attacks. Juliana’s and Larry’s special attacks, special sync moves, and Tera moves count as zero damage, while their support effects are included.

Juliana’s three-rank Normal Type Rebuff reduction applies to one target, rather than all three. After the change to Stellar, the reduction applies to Stellar Type Rebuff. Successful-move effects are assumed to activate even when counted damage is zero, including sync countdown acceleration and zone reapplication from the sync grid. Both teams use the same calculation model.

The action-order search uses a limited set of candidates and does not guarantee a global maximum across all teams and routes. Multi EX’s first-sync Type Rebuff reduction is not included. Timing approximates three allied actions plus one opponent action as 19 seconds. Animations, gauge waits, incoming attacks and survival, opponent HP, round transitions, and maintaining status conditions or interference are not simulated. These figures are not actual damage, Gym Battle scores, or an overall ranking that accounts for durability.
