GYM BATTLE · ELECTRIC

How much does Arc Suit Hau boost physical Electric-type damage in Gym Battles?

How much changes if Arc Suit Hau & Raichu takes N & Zekrom’s spot in the fifth Gym Battle? We used the Electric-weak matchup with immunity to special attacks and kept both teammates and their grids from the earlier comparison: Sygna Suit Iono & Raging Bolt and Champion Ethan & Raikou.

Over 270 seconds, the EX4 index went from 2.826 billion to 10.219 billion

With three tickets and the EX4 bonus for super-effective attacks, the Hau team reached 10,218,847,941, compared with 2,826,027,115 for the N team. That puts Hau’s team at 3.62 times the physical Electric-type output of the previous team (+261.6%).

N & Zekrom2,826,027,1151,667,863,8971,884,018,081

The calculator links show the base indices. For the EX4 column, we used the previous article’s method: multiply the index of each super-effective action by 1.5, round it down, then add the actions together. The saved N route reproduces a base index of 1,884,018,081 and an EX4 index of 2,826,027,115.

The team gained 7.393 billion in the EX4 comparison. Most of that came from the featured attacker: N contributed 2.502 billion and Hau contributed 9.439 billion. Ethan’s physical Electric-type contribution also rose, from 324 million to 780 million. Iono sets EX Electric Terrain in both teams. Her own attacks score zero against opponents immune to special attacks.

N and Hau each use four sync moves. Hau is at +6 Speed for all four, which maximizes his sync move’s built-in power bonus. His Strike EX role lets it hit all three opponents for a combined base index of 3,255,447,873. He also gets six uses of Almighty Spark, which hits the whole opposing team at full power.

Two attacks for different targets

Almighty Thunder Punch lowers one target’s Defense by three ranks and leaves it paralyzed, setting up later physical attacks against that target. Almighty Spark hits all opponents without losing power against multiple targets. A Defense drop on one opponent does not increase damage against the other two.

After any allied sync move, Hau restores one use of his buddy moves. If he has Electric Terrain MP left, he also spends one MP to set Electric Terrain and reduce the sync countdown by three. When Hau himself sets the terrain, the team gains two ranks of Physical Moves ↑ Next.

Teams and move orders

Arc Suit Hau’s team

Ethan takes the first sync move at 61.75 seconds. Hau then automatically spends his last Electric Terrain MP to cut the next sync countdown by three. Hau takes the next four sync moves. Once Electric Terrain runs out of MP, allied sync moves still restore a use of Almighty Spark.

Hau uses Almighty Spark six times at +6 Speed and lands seven Almighty Thunder Punches on the center opponent. The calculation applies Thunder Punch’s Defense drops only to that target. Hau can extend his teammate’s EX Electric Terrain, keeping it active for his late spread attacks.

Sync move order: Ethan (Champion) (61.75s) → Arc Suit Hau (99.75s) → Arc Suit Hau (147.25s) → Arc Suit Hau (199.5s) → Arc Suit Hau (251.75s)

N’s team

We replayed the original three pairs, grids and move order. N uses Bolt Strike 12 times and takes four sync moves, starting at 42.75 seconds. Ethan takes one sync move before N takes the last one. Replaying this sequence with both the original and current calculator versions gives the same base index of 1,884,018,081.

Hau’s featured sync grid

Haymaker (10 energy, move level 3) is at full strength for every sync move because Hau enters battle at +6 Attack. With every tile and action held in place, disabling only Haymaker’s effect lowered the team’s EX4 index by 1.659 billion.

Static Shock 5 (9 energy, move level 3) is outlined in red below. Almighty Spark can paralyze all three opponents before Hau’s sync move hits them. Disabling only Static Shock 5 lowered the team’s EX4 index by 829 million. Each test keeps the other tile active, so the two differences cannot be added together.

What the comparison measures

Both routes use three tickets, 270 seconds and five starting sync buffs against three Electric-weak opponents immune to special attacks. All pairs are at move level 5 and 6★ EX with EX roles unlocked and a 70-energy grid cap. As in the original comparison, N and Sygna Suit Iono have Superawakening level 5. Hau and Champion Ethan are ineligible.

Both routes use zero resistance to Defense and Sp. Def drops and no opponent-specific passive preset. Normal-type moves are also allowed in EX4, but neither route has a scoring physical Normal-type attack. As in the previous comparison, the model does not simulate the two-slot move gauge reduction or verify whether every support effect triggered by an immune attack activates in game.

These are calculator indices. The model does not simulate animations, move gauge waits, incoming damage, survival or the battle ending when the opponents run out of HP. The ratio describes these two routes, rather than in-game damage or a maximum across all possible teams.
